South Creek Pony Club is comprised
of children ranging in age from 4 to 25; with members located north
of Dade City and south to Brandon, Lutz, Odessa, Zephyrhills, Plant
City and Riverview. Pony Club develops the well rounded horse person.
The enclosed brochure will give you an oversight of the Pony Club
and all that it has to offer. The USPC web site: www.ponyclub.org
has additional information that I am sure you will find interesting.
Pony Club emphasizes education and instruction and competition in the form
of "Rallies". Most USPC competition is team competition where members learn
the importance of cooperation and teamwork. At Rally, teams members are
evaluated during all phases; riding, formal inspection and horse management.
"Education plays an important role for our members".
Ratings and Standards: This
system guides our members to becoming accomplished riders, and
knowledgeable about equine care. It takes dedication but the rewards
are un-measurable. Our pony club members attend mounted clinics
and un-mounted outings to further their knowledge.
The club officers meet monthly
and minutes are distributed to the members via email. The club
as a whole meets 2 to 4 a year. Notice of these meetings is distributed
via email.
The role of parents in the
Pony Club is very important. Parents volunteer time
and assistance to ensure successful pony club events. Parents
play a critical role with Pony Club in keeping down the cost of
the various activities. "If everyone does a little, no one does
a lot".
As a member of South Creek
Pony Club, you become an honorary member in our parent club: South
Creek Foxhounds. The hunt supports of our Club
with special events during the year. The Pony Club joins the hunt
to enjoy the hounds and beautiful countryside. It is lots of fun.
